WHAT THE TOUR INVOLVES
Haleakala Creamery is Maui’s family-owned goat dairy and ice cream farm, and the tour is guided by the owner, Rebecca, who started with a single pet goat 12 years ago and now keeps more than 50 dairy goats. A short walk takes you to the pastures to feed and pet the goats, including goat kids in season, and learn how the herd turns Maui’s sweet grasses into caramel sauce, Goatlato ice cream and cheese. You can even try milking a goat yourself.
INSIDE THE CREAMERY
After the pastures, the tour moves through the Creamery kitchen to show how the fresh cheeses and caramel sauces are made, with views of Haleakala and Maui around the farm. Each adult ticket includes a cheese tasting plate.
