The Myths of Maui Luau holds a special place in island history as the longest-running luau on Maui, performed on the oceanfront grounds of the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows on the Kaanapali coast in Lahaina. The evening begins the moment you arrive, with a warm aloha greeting and a fresh lei draped around your shoulders before you find your seat near the Pacific.
The cultural heart of the night comes early with the imu ceremony. Guests gather to watch the Kalua Pua’a, a whole pig that has spent the day slow-roasting in an underground earthen oven, lifted from the imu in a tradition that stretches back centuries.
