HOW IT RUNS
You meet at North Shore Ohana School of Surfing – Chuns Reef Beach, Chuns Reef Beach, Haleiwa, HI, 96712. 🌊 This experience consists of a land lesson on the steps of standing up, a safety briefing of surfing etiquette and how to operate in the line-up followed up with a lot of wave riding! All Gear provided rash guard, leash and softtop or epoxy surfboard. No previous experience required. The Winter & Summer season surf locations are also awesome snorkel spots to swim alongside our Native green sea turtles.

WHO IT IS FOR
Exactly two surfers who want to share the experience but not share the instructor with anyone else. The ratio is two students to one instructor, which North Shore Ohana say is their most popular booking among couples, children wanting an activity together, and travelling companions. You get considerably more correction than in a 3:1 open group while still learning alongside someone you know. The session runs 1.5 or 2 hours at Chun’s Reef Beach, Haleiwa, HI 96712, and consists of a land lesson on the steps of standing up, a safety briefing on surfing etiquette and how to operate in the line-up, then a long stretch of wave riding. Minimum age is 7, no experience is needed, and rash guard, leash and a softtop or epoxy board are provided. In both winter and summer their surf spots double as snorkel spots for green sea turtles.
Consider instead: if one of you wants completely undivided attention, Ohana’s 1:1 “Kapu” lesson is $225. If there are three or more of you, the 3-5 private group lesson is $115.
