HOW IT RUNS
You meet at Waikīkī Beach Services Royal Hawaiian, 2259 Kalākaua Ave, Honolulu, HI, 96815. Same-day reservations must visit or call our activity desk at (808) 388-1510. Up to 6 people can fit per canoe (4 paddlers + 2 riders). Ages 5+ welcome – parent or guardian must be present to hold child during the ride and must provide own lifejacket or floatation device. All swimming and paddling abilities also welcome.

The price is $400 per canoe for one hour, not per person, and it takes up to six people – four paddlers and two riders – so the cost per head falls sharply the more of you there are. Crucially there is no minimum number of riders, which is the practical reason to choose this over the shared canoe surfing session: that one requires at least three participants, so a couple or a solo traveller cannot book it at all. Canoes run daily from 10:00 a.m. Children from age 5 are welcome, but a parent or guardian must be aboard holding the child and must provide their own lifejacket or flotation device.
