WHAT THE SURF LESSON INVOLVES
When you book a private group surf lesson, your instructor(s) is exclusive to YOUR party. Your instructor is dedicated to personalizing your group experience and catering to your group’s individual needs. This lesson is great for large groups, wedding parties, family reunions, conference groups, etc. The student to instructor ratio will be determined at the time of booking based on your group’s size.
HOW IT RUNS
You meet at North Shore Ohana School of Surfing – Chuns Reef Beach, Chuns Reef Beach, Haleiwa, HI, 96712. Group size is 3 to 5 guests. Your lesson will be led by a professional Red Cross CPR certified instructor with years of North Shore ocean knowledge to ensure that your experience is safe, fun, exciting and full of laughs and smiles. This 1.5 & or 2-hour experience consists of a land lesson how to stand up, safety briefing, surfing etiquette along with how we will be catching the most waves possible all while staying safe and having FUN! All Gear provided rash guard, leash and softtop or epoxy surfboard. No previous experience required.

WHO IT IS FOR
Small parties of three to five people who want exclusive use of their instructor. Your instructor works only with your group, and the exact student-to-instructor ratio is agreed at booking once North Shore Ohana know your numbers. The lesson runs 1.5 or 2 hours at North Shore Ohana School of Surfing, Chun’s Reef Beach, Haleiwa, HI 96712, led by a Red Cross CPR certified instructor, and covers a land lesson on standing up, a safety briefing and surfing etiquette before a long stretch of wave riding. Minimum age is 7, no previous experience is required, and rash guard, leash and a softtop or epoxy surfboard are all provided.
Consider instead: the open group lesson is $120 and puts you with other people at a 3:1 ratio, but it accepts solo bookers where this one needs at least three, and its minimum age is 16 rather than 7. Six to eight people should book the 6-8 private group lesson at $120; nine or more, the 9+ package at $95. Just the two of you: the “Holoholo” lesson for two is $150 at a 2:1 ratio.
