WHO IT IS FOR
Surfers with real ability who want one-to-one coaching rather than an introduction. Po’okela run this as the counterpart to their private beginner lesson: identical $250 price, but it assumes you can already paddle, stand and catch waves, and spends the session on progressing from there instead of on the basics. Book it if a beginner lesson would waste your time and a group lesson would hold you back. It is one of only a handful of sessions on this site aimed above beginner level. Equipment and instruction are included, and the meeting point is confirmed at booking.
Consider instead: if you have never surfed, book Po’okela’s private beginner lesson – same $250, built for the fundamentals. For advanced technique work at a fixed address, Ohana Surf Project’s advanced lesson in Waikiki is $120 for two hours. To be taken around the North Shore and surf whichever break is working that day, North Shore Ohana’s surf tour is $350 for three hours.
