WHO IT IS FOR
People who want to come away actually able to eFoil, not just having tried it. The operator describes this as the option for students who want to dig their teeth fully into eFoiling in one lesson, and it runs approximately 1.5 to 2 hours – the longest solo session they offer, and about half an hour more water time than their mid-length version. That extra time is the whole proposition: getting up on the foil is one thing, staying up and controlling it is what the additional half hour buys. It is aimed at students of average shape and age, and because the board is electrically powered you are not paddling or waiting on waves, so fitness matters far less than in a surf lesson. You meet at Sand Island on the South Shore.
Consider instead: if you only want a taste of it, the mid-length solo session is $199 for roughly 1 to 1.5 hours. Booking with others brings the price to $149 each in a group. A different operator runs private lessons from Ke’ehi South Beach at $260.10 with helmet, vest and whistle provided.
HOW IT COMPARES
The mid-length solo session is $50 less at $199 for about an hour to an hour and a half, and the group eFoil experience is the cheapest way onto a board at $149 each for two or more. Our guide to eFoiling on Oahu compares every session.
