WHO IT IS FOR
People who want a packed half day rather than a full one, built to their preferences. Mahina Hawaii will tailor the four hours to what you actually want, and their published example itineraries give a clear sense of the range: snorkel Electric Beach and hike the Pink Pillbox trail; paddle the Anahulu River and hike Ehukai Pillbox; snorkel Sharks Cove in summer and kayak the Anahulu. If you would rather not switch activities at all, they will run one long hike instead. Photos and video are taken throughout and included in the price, which is not the case on most guided days and is worth real money if you want a record of it.
One practical point that catches people out: transportation is not provided on half-day adventures. It is included only on full days, so you need your own vehicle to get to and between locations on this one.
Consider instead: the full-day private ocean adventure with the same operator is $750, takes up to 12 guests, includes transport, and lets you pick an intensity from beginner through to gnarly.
