WHY FOAM
Soft-tops float more, paddle easier and hurt considerably less when they hit you, which is the whole argument for learning on one. They are slower than epoxy and less responsive once you are carving, but for the stage where you are still catching whitewater and standing up, that trade is entirely in your favour.
The range runs 5ft to 11ft, so it covers a small board for a child and a full longboard for an adult still working on balance. Every board is $5 cheaper than the equivalent epoxy rental at the same shop.
